The 2013-2014 school year promises to be full of learning and exploration as your child develops the academic and social skills they will need in their future. It is important to recognize that in order to successfully advance from 6th to 7th grade, your child will need to pass all of her classes with a score of 65 or greater and earn a level 2, 3 or 4 on the New York State ELA and Math tests given in the spring. Your young lady will be graded on tests, projects and quizzes (70%), classwork (15%) and homework (15%.)
During the course of this year, we will work feverishly to guide your child to success. Ultimately though, it is your child’s responsibility to take action by coming prepared to learn with a positive and serious attitude, completing his/her class work and homework while keeping focused on the prize—to move to high school in three years with the necessary skills for higher educational advancement and a successful career.
