Laptops for ALL 6th Graders!

This past September 20th was an exciting day for our 6th grade girls and their families. Thanks to a partnership between the math teachers and CFY, all of our 6th grade girls received a laptop along with a four hour training for families. Now the students will be able to complete math assignments (and work for other classes too!) on their computers while at home.

More about CFY (from

CFY is a national education nonprofit that helps students in low-income communities, together with their teachers and families, harness the power of digital learning to improve educational outcomes.

CFY pursues this mission through the combination of its groundbreaking K-12 learning platform,®, and its on-the-ground direct service initiative, the CFY Digital Learning Program. PowerMyLearning makes best-in-class digital learning activities easily accessible and usable to meet the full range of K-12 learning needs. It is an integral part of CFY’s Digital Learning Program which is conducted in partnership with low-income public schools to increase home technology access, extend learning beyond the classroom, and deeply engage parents in the learning process.

To extend the impact of its work even further, CFY operates the PowerMyLearning Network — a coalition of partners who believe in the power of digital learning in helping students meet the Common Core State Standards. Partners include school districts, libraries, afterschool programs, and other education organizations that have adopted the free, web-based K-12 learning platform, PowerMyLearning, as part of their digital learning strategy to drive student achievement.
